Stop & Shoot has at its helm Alastair Don, a location manager with 10 years experience in the TV and film industry.
The company was borne out of the recognized need for a dedicated filming and events traffic management company and Alastair has drawn on his experiences as a location manager to provide a service that meets the specific needs of the industry.
Alastair has, over the years, built many contacts within local authorities and understands the requirements and ethos of a shoot or event.
Planning is key to the proficient execution of the client’s traffic management brief. |

A full location recce would be carried out with the location manager or event organiser to determine potential problems on site.
We liaise with all the relevant highways agencies, provide them and the client with a risk assessment and method statement, operating in line with the approved highways code of practice.
A full plan detailing the traffic management would be submitted to the relevant Highways authority and the client, ensuring competent and safe implementation on location.
The traffic management personnel are qualified in line with Chapter 8 code of practice as issued by the Department for Transport.

All personnel are 'film friendly' with experience of a shoot and are adaptable and PR focused, as they are the first person many local residents shall meet on a shoot.
The needs of local business and residents are taken into account and the approach when dealing with the general public is thoughtful and considered.
Traffic control can be a delicate subject and if the first impressions of a film shoot or event and its crew are good, then the hard work is done.
Above all, safety and efficiency are paramount to the ethos of Stop & Shoot.
